RSA Training for Students

Students who wish to work in the Hospitality Industry, face-to-face RSA training is compulsory for staff selling, offering or serving liquor for general, on-premises, late night and packaged liquor licences.

Following the initial course, you will then need to complete the approved RSA online refresher course every three years.

The RSA programme covers a range of topics including:

· An overview of the liquor industry

· Benefits of RSA for staff, customers, community and business

· Alcohol facts, standard drinks, Blood alcohol concentration, effects of alcohol.

· Who’s responsible, standards, advertising, identifying intoxication

· Strategies for responsible service of alcohol and preventing intoxication

· Monitoring patrons consumption, exploring worst and best practice techniques to refuse the service of alcohol.

· Issues of serving underage patrons, explore and understand laws relating to minors on licensed premises, strategies to prevent underage drinking

· Explore issues relating to bottle shops, secondary supply, I.D., functions, unique situations, bookings, operations, post function debriefs
